About Me
Bio
I am an independent AI researcher exploring novel approaches to machine intelligence, with a focus on reasoning, abstraction, and continual learning. I hold an undergraduate degree from Tsinghua University and a master’s degree from Duke University. Outside of work, I spend time on lifting and video games.
Research Overview
At a very high level, my current research areas are:
- Inductive biases in architectural design for better reasoning and generalization
- The intersection between neural and symbolic approaches
- Memory, continual learning, and reinforcement learning
I approach research with:
- Close coupling between conceptual exploration and experimentation
- Simplicity as a prior in both research and engineering
- Intellectual independence and interdisciplinary curiosity
I am currently building
Iter Labs (iter as in journey in latin and iter() in python), an early-stage independent research organization focused on exploring new directions in machine learning research.
